Scarlett
Gillespie

Hamilton is a city built by the hands of the working class, the vision of artists, and the resilience of those who call this sanctuary home. But for too long, the decisions made at City Hall haven’t reflected the lived realities of the people on the ground. Scarlett Gillespie is running for Mayor to change that.

Scarlett is a fearless community organizer and a dedicated activist who has spent years working directly with those who fall through the cracks of our public systems. As the Executive Director of the Sex Workers’ Action Program (SWAP) Hamilton, she has been a tireless advocate for the safety and dignity of marginalized residents. Her leadership was recognized in 2024 with the YWCA Hamilton Woman of Distinction Award, a testament to her commitment to standing up for trans rights, housing security, and social justice, even in the face of immense pressure.

She doesn’t just talk about the issues—she lives them. From fighting for tenant protections at CityHousing Hamilton to advocating for climate justice and transparency in local government, Scarlett knows that real change requires courage. As your Mayor, she will prioritize community-led safety initiatives, affordable housing, and a thriving arts sector. Scarlett Gillespie isn’t just another politician; she is a fighter who will ensure every Hamiltonian has a seat at the table.

On October 26, vote for a Hamilton that works for everyone.
